(FZF’s own multi media award-winning Creative Director and Founding Partner is your archetypal dropout who weaved in and out of formal education. And a plethora of mundane jobs.) Finally: Innovators, Pioneers, Artists - and Creative folks in general - tend to have an inbuilt “ego” that drives them to use their self-confidence to achieve outstanding results. However, unlike the blissful freedoms enjoyed by poets, writers and artists in general, creativity in the Ad Industry comes with the “restrictions” of Relevance and Budgets. Are you ok to “not fall in love with your creative genius”, if a brilliant idea you’ve conceptualized isn’t strategically aligned with the Creative Brief (which stems from the Strategic Ad Plan)? Mind you, as much as Copy Writing is more a CRAFT than an Art, there’s AMPLE scope for the free flow of creative juices. The same goes for Graphic Design. Crafting words and art - within the realm of relevance to the core message - to WOW a target audience and help grow economies, is a challenge that requires a special kind of - yes, brilliance.

Yes, that’s the order in which we assess if a candidate is a good fit for FZF. We select a dropout with just an iota of aptitude and a stellar attitude, over a graduate with a bad attitude. You see, “culture” has a lot to do with the environment in which timely, sizzling and effective advertising is created. For example, we cannot have a scholar who isn’t ready to burn the midnight oil when needed - because they think “I didn’t graduate from USC School of Cinematic Arts to get bags under my eyes over an Ad Campaign.”
Imagine this scenario for example: Our client’s “snoop-dog” just learned that their competitor is launching a campaign in three days. We get a call that our client wants to ambush their competitor’s marketing strategy and break a campaign on live TV in two days. Our mindset? LFG!
